Go Beavers!

Only 2 hours until kick-off of the Civil War game (Oregon State vs. Oregon). A Beavers win will send them to the Rose Bowl for the first time in...forever! Go Beavs!

P.S. As a side-note...the ever-good looking Kirk Herbstreit picked the Beavers to beat Oregon on College Game Day this morning...I knew I liked that guy!!

Resting up for the big night!

It is tough not to believe in Santa when the proof is right in front of your eyes! Today we went to see "Santa's reindeer" who were in a pasture not too far from Mimi and Papa's house. The "reindeer" were huge, and the kids were so excited to see them. The only downer of the outing was that we didn't get to see Rudolph...according to Riley, he is still at the North Pole resting up for the big night.

No New Posts Because...

Everyone has been sick! We have had a rough couple of weeks around here battling whatever junk is going around. Riley finally got over her cold, but then Cory caught it. We took Bailey to Urgent Care a week and a half ago, and she had croup. We thought she was on the mend and then got an ear infection two days ago. Hopefully everyone is now on the mend and we can get back to life as usual.

Look What She Can Do!

Bayz has learned how to hold her own bottle! Yahoo! Though she only takes two bottles a day, it is amazing how much more time it seems like I have when I can just hand Bailey her bottle and let her feed herself.

"I Feel Rotten"

"I feel rotten" is what we have been hearing Riley say over the last day and a half. She woke up yesterday morning claiming she didn't feel good, but being the great mom I am I patted her on the head, told her she would feel better soon, and packed her off to school. (In my defense, if I had a dollar for every time she said she had a stomach ache (which is really code for I don't want to do what I am supposed to do) I would be a rich woman). As soon as I saw her coming out of school when I went to pick her up I knew she really didn't feel good. Her face was pale, she had dark circles under her eyes, and she was running a fever. And it went downhill from there. Last night she was begging me to put her to bed at 6:45 (NOT normal behavior!). I kept her home from school today, and plan on doing the same tomorrow, as she is still feverish and complaining of "hurting all over". Hopefully she feels better soon!

Bailey - Nine Months

Bailey is nine months old! She had her check up last week, and here are her stats:

Weight: 19 lbs, 11 oz (67th percentile) I swear it feels like she weighs twice this! She is getting heavy to lug around!

Length: 30 inches (98th percentile) She obviously does not get her height from her mother!

Head Circumference: 44.6 cm (66th percentile)

Here are some of Bailey's accomplishments in the last few weeks:
- She has abandoned the army crawl in favor of regular crawling. She figured out it is much faster to crawl...and is easier on the tummy, too!

- She pulls herself up on the furniture...I am sure it won't be too long until we are watching her take her first steps.

- She still eats like a champ, and has mastered the sippy cup.

- She graduated to a bigger car seat...she was spilling out of the infant carrier...plus Bailey and the carseat were WAY too heavy for me to lug around.

- She still is in love with her sister, and tries to do everything Riley does.

Halloween Ladybugs

Riley and Bailey dressed up like twin ladybugs for Halloween this year. The girls put on their costumes early afternoon on Halloween and then we drove down to Provo to go trick-or-treating at Cory's work. Bailey didn't understand what was going on (though we did give her her very first dum-dum sucker, which helped her quickly understand candy was involved in whatever it was we were doing!) but Riley had a great time filling up her candy bag. Later on that night we took the girls around the neighborhood for more trick-or-treating. The first few houses Ry was nervous and stuck like glue to her dad's leg. But after a few practice rounds she became a pro and insisted we stay in the driveway while she walked up to the door alone. What a champ! After an hour or candy collecting around the neighborhood, we came home and let Ry hand out candy for awhile. Overall the night was a hit and I am sure we will have plenty of candy around here for a long time!
