Memory Marathon

As soon as Cory walks in the door the girls start asking if he will play Memory with them after dinner. We have been playing a family game every night for about a month now. Bailey has a pretty short attention span for the game...she just wants to find the cards with Sleeping Beauty on them, and then she is happy to quit. Riley, on the other hand, is quite competitive. She and Cory play for blood and guts as soon as Bailey and I drop out of the game. Their games usually come down to the wire, with the winner being the one who "cleans it" (matching up the remaining few pairs of cards on the floor). Riley has had to learn how to be a graceful winner and a good loser...so has Cory! No matter who wins, each game is ended with Riley saying, "Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug." She sure is happier when she is the windshield and her dad is the bug!

LOOK WHO'S 3!

Last week we celebrated Bailey's 3rd birthday. She had been waiting for weeks to turn 3! Cory always has a late work week during the first week of February, so if we want Dad to be involved in the bday celebration, we always have to celebrate early...which translates into nearly a week of birthday activities for Bailey! The Saturday before the bid day we went to dinner at Red Robin with Mimi, Papa, and our neighbors (who's daughter is Bailey's best friend!). After eating the "bestest" macaroni and cheese in the waiter brought Bailey a huge slice of mud pie. She was excited! Top off that with a Red Robin balloon on the way out of the restaurant and her birthday celebration was off to a great start!

She was thrilled with her HUGE piece of cake.
The next day we had Bailey's official birthday party at Mimi and Papa's. She loves the color pink and had been talking for weeks about the pink cupcakes with pink frosting and pink sprinkles on pink plates with pink napkins and pink candles that she wanted to have for her party. Everything had to be pink! She even wanted only pink presents! Good thing Leapsters and scooters come in pink! Needless to say, she was "tickled pink" with her party!!

So excited to be 3!

Now that the celebration is over, life can get back to normal around here! It was a fun week, though, and we sure are glad to have Bailey in our family!

At 3, Bailey's favorites are:
- the color pink
- wearing skirts (she nearly refuses to wear pants...so unlike her mother at that age!)
- Little Einsteins (especially June!)
- blueberry yogurt (only Yoplait brand...she is snobby about her yogurt!)
- reading stories
- singing songs with Dad
- going to stores with Mom
- apple juice (she can tell when I dilute it with water and does NOT like it when I do that!)
- Moo Cow (her stuffed cow)
- "bankley" (her blanket she LOVES)
- Disney princesses (especially Sleeping Beauty)
- new clothes (she got some money for her birthday and all she wanted to do was go to Old Navy and buy some new skirts with her cash).
- Riley, the best big sister in the world!
- being 3!

WE LOVE YOU, BAILEY-O!
