Riley's Big Adventure

Our house is quieter than usual this week because Ry is gone for the week. Mimi and Papa decided to go to Utah for six or seven days, and invited Ry to go along. No one really expected she would agree to be gone from home for that long, but she jumped at the chance to go to Utah and visit her cousins Sugar and DeeBro (Kaden and Brody). They are going to spend two or three days at Shelby's house and then head on down to stay with Kacey for the remainder of the trip. Ry is so excited to visit a house with stairs and to go to all of the fun parks in Utah. We miss her, but are glad she had the chance to have an adventure of her very own.

All Smiles

Bailey was in a happy mood this morning, and I caught her smiling several times for the camera. Her cute gummy smile sure does make you forget all of the grumpy moments she has had over the last three months! Isn't she cute?? We think so!

Four Generations

Grandpa Fred came over from the coast last week, and while he was here we took advantage of the chance to get some four-generation pictures.

Mom's Big Helper

Ry is such a huge help around here. She took over feeding duties the other day, and did a great job with it!

The Tulip Festival

Mom, Ry, Bailey, and I headed over to Woodburn to check out the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival this afternoon. The weather was perfect, and we had a good time checking out the sights and taking in the flowers. Ry had fun riding the horse tire swing, running the rubber ducky races, putting her head in the cut-out figures, and looking at all of the flowers. Mom and I had fun watching Ry, and Bailey...well, she cried a lot of the time we were there. Shocking, I know. Overall it was an enjoyable outing. It was nice for all of us to have the chance to get out of the house.

Computer Genuis

I was on the computer today when Riley showed interest in learning how to use the mouse. After a quick lesson on how to move the cursor, she was a pro. She spent the next 45 minutes or so on http://www.pbskids.org/ playing Word World games all by herself! (For those of you who have never seen Word World, you have to check it out! It is the BEST show on TV and targets preschool/kindergarten age kids, though I think older kids would like it, too. Even I like to watch Word World! It teaches beginning reading skills in a fun way, and Riley LOVES it! FYI...it is on PBS at 2:30 here). Now every time I get on the computer Riley wants to know when it will be her turn. She even told my mom to "hurry up and get off the computer, Mims" tonight when we were over there for dinner. I think we have created a monster...

We LOVE Sleep

Bailey slept from 10:15 p.m. to 6:45 a.m. last night! I would honestly say it was one of the best nights of my life!

Our Family

As you all know, Bailey Emma joined our family on February 2nd. We love having her in our house, even with all of the adjustments having a new baby requires. Riley has gotten used to losing her "only child" status, and is the best big sister any baby could ask for. She is a great helper around the house and we are always telling Ry we don't know what we would do without her! We love our little girls, and are so glad to have them both in our family.

Bath Time!

Bailey just loves her baths! Every time she gets in she lowers her head until her ears are submerged and just hangs out. It is funny to watch a baby who is always moving become so still once she hits the warm water.
