Feeling Lucky??

Feeling Lucky??

My friend had this posted on her blog and it sounded fun (although I have no idea yet what I am doing but I thought I would be a good sport and try this)!!:)

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

2. What I create will be just for you.

3. It'll be done this year. (sooner than later because I hate putting things off)

4. You have no clue what it's going to be. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange (but don't expect my gift to be too strange because I am not good at coming up with strange things:).

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! *Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!*

Jumpin Jacks

Today we decided to go and check out Jumpin' Jacks, which is a center with several bouncy houses for kids to go and play on. Riley and Brody, along with her friends Carlie and Cayden, had a great time at "one of the best places in the world" (that is according to Riley). Jumpin' Jacks got thumbs up from all four kids, and is somewhere we will definitely go again!

Food Storage

We have taken a bigger interest in food storage over the last several months. In fact, we (my sisters and parents) recently bought a dry pack canner to use here at the house. Yesterday was the first day we broke it out of the box and put it to use. We canned rice, salt, spaghetti noodles, and pinto beans. We had a lot of helpers (from the kids who put the spaghetti in the cans and the Moms of the kids who supervised, to Mimi who was in charge of the babies, to Dave and Papa who ran the canner). It was fun and it always feels good to see new cans of food on the storage shelves (or in our case, the storage unit!).

BYU Basketball

Wednesday night we took in a BYU basketball game at the Mariott Center in Provo. We gave my parents tickets for Christmas, and decided to tag along with them to the game. Riley had a great time eating popcorn, watching Cosmo and the cheerleaders, and loved it when the band played the BYU fight song...especially the part at the end - She has the "Rah, Rah, Rah Rah Rah...GOOOOOOOO Cougars" part down pat! I would like to go to another game, but Cory thinks they "need to pull their heads out" before he will go again.

Into Everything!

Now that Bailey can walk, she is constantly into EVERYTHING! When Riley was one we never really worried too much about her getting into things she wasn't supposed to. That is not going to be the case with Bailey. As you can see, the other day Bailey found a box of kleenex and emptied the whole thing out. She is constantly on the move and into everything! She is one we are going to have to keep a close eye on!

What a Change!

I told Riley she had to get her hair trimmed before she goes back to school at the end of the month...I asked her how much she wanted to trim off and she grabbed about six inches of hair and said, "At least this much, Mom." I never thought she would actually do it, but today we went to get her hair cut. She ended up cutting about 7 inches off (which the stylist said she would send to Locks of Love). What a difference! Riley looks so grown up with her new hair style. The first thing she said as we left the hair place was, "Now I can eat dinner and my hair won't touch my food." How true, Ry. Doesn't she look adorable?

Bailey is Eleven Months Old!

Yesterday Bailey turned 11 months old! She is growing up so fast! In the last week she has started walking and likes the attention taking steps gets her. She was a trooper on the drive to and from the ranch and even has slept all of the way through the night the last few nights (hopefully that continues!). She has four teeth on the bottom and is yet to get any on the top (is that normal??). She loves to play and gets into everything. I never had to child-proof anything with Riley but see that may not be the case with Bailey! Riley reminded me yesterday that we need to start planning Bailey's first birthday party! Can it really only be one month away? Time flies!

Back from the Ranch

We spent Christmas with Cory's family in New Mexico this year. It was nice to have the chance to spend time with his side of the family. Nearly all of his brothers and sisters were there, so there were lots of cousins for Riley and Bailey to play with. Ry had a great time playing outside (the weather was pretty nice, for the most part) on the trampoline and swings. She even got to ride a horse with her dad and went on rides on the motorcycle. Bailey had Cory's sisters triplets to play with (who are seventeen months old) as well as another cousin just about her age. Lots of babies running around! We decided to do the drive home overnight as opposed to starting out in the morning...we cut the drive down from sixteen hours to just under forteen, but we are still recovering from being up all night!
