Random Pictures

Things have been busy around here lately! Here are quick updates on what has been happening the last week or so:

Riley, after being seizure-free for over a month, had a couple of seizures over the weekend. Her doctor is trying to get her off one of the medications she takes, so we think that the seizures she had are related to the changes in her meds. Poor kid...as Riley said a couple of nights ago, seizures stink! She is back on both medicines again, and hopefully we have things stabilized again.

Bailey's highlight of the week was getting to go to the dollar store to pick out three surprises because she wrote her name all by herself. Way to go, Bayz! She walked around chanting "I wrote mine own name" so many times that I was almost sorry she learned how to do it!

Zane will be five weeks old tomorrow. He eats a ton, sleeps a lot (during the day) and insists on being held. He has a sixth sense for knowing when the person holding him sits down (he prefers to beheld while standing up) and he knows when I lay my head on my pillow at night (I don't think he likes me to do that, either). He is definitely king of the castle right now.

I have taken quite a few pictures over the last few weeks that I haven't had a chance to post...here are a few:

After months of not so subtle hints, we finally got a trampoline (or jumpoline, according to Bailey) for the backyard. The kids love it!

Here is what happens to Zane if you don't get the bottle to his mouth fast enough...the kid is ALWAYS hungry!

Here Zane is in some more peaceful moments:

The Yellow Jackets

Riley is playing soccer again this spring. Her friend's dad is the coach, and she is having a great time. She scored a goal last Saturday and boy, was it exciting! Way to go, RILEY!

Here are a few pictures of Ry in action, and two of her biggest fans!

The Green Popsicle

Bailey tells me all of the time she is getting too big for the highchair and to wear a bib...but this is one instance I am glad I insisted!

Newborn Pictures

We had a friend come over last week and take pictures of the kids. I was hoping Zane would be happy and cooperate, and he did a pretty good job for the most part. Bailey ended up being the stink-bug of the day, and we have the pictures to show just how happy she was. I feel pretty lucky that we got at least one good shot of the three kids together!

Zane is here!

Zane Cory Bluth is here! He was born Thursday, April 28th at 7:07 a.m. He was 7 lbs 1 oz., and was 19 3/4" long. Zane was having a hard time breathing right after he was born, so he was taken almost immediately to the NICU where he spent the first day and a half being monitored (that is why some of the pictures of him show an IV in is head...poor kid...it looked terrible!). I had a c-section, and didn't even really get to see him until late in the afternoon Thursday. I spent about 10 minutes in the NICU visiting Zane before having to head back to my room. Zane spent the night in the NICU Thursday before getting to come to my room by the afternoon on Friday. It was kind of weird being in the hospital for having a baby, but not getting to hold or see the baby. Riley and Bailey were not able to see or hold Zane on Thursday, either, which was a huge bummer for them. The NICU nurse was really nice, though, and wheeled Zane's bed to the window of the NICU unit when the girls came to visit me so at least they got to see him.

We spent Thursday - Monday in the hospital, and came home late Monday afternoon. We have been adjusting to have a baby in the house again (some are adjusting better than others...Bailey is kind of having a hard time having the little man dominate mom's attention). So far Zane has been a good baby. He just wants to eat and sleep. We keep holding our breath that this continues. Both Riley and Bailey were nightmare babies (I say this affectionately!). They were colicky and we are keeping our fingers crossed that Zane won't follow in their footsteps! I know he is only a few days old, but if we can just get him to sleep through the night...I can dream, right??

Easter

I know I am a little late getting these posted...but better late than never, right?

Easter was a hit with the kids this year. Riley hyped up the Easter bunny to Bailey, who became terrified of the guy. She did NOT want the bunny to come into the house while she was sleeping...that is why we ended up with everyone sleeping in our room on the night before Easter! The bunny went from being scary to being the best thing ever when Sunday morning rolled around, though. It didn't take the kids long to find all of their eggs and their baskets.

After the egg hunt was over, we got ready for church. Riley was kind of ticked that her mean old mom made her be twins with her sister. I told her that kids all over the place were being forced into matching clothes on Easter...it is just what moms do on Easter morning. That made her feel a little better! Don't they look cute, though?
