Pumpkin Patch

About a week ago we headed out for our yearly trek to the pumpkin patch. And just like last year, Riley found her pumpkin in about five seconds...Bailey, on the other hand, had to look at nearly every little pumpkin before she found one that was perfect!

Just a Cute Boy...

Here are just a few random pictures of our cute little boy. Look at those cheeks!

Riley's New Haircut

Look what Riley decided to do! She had about seven inches cut off her hair a few weeks ago. She is loving her new look...she sure does look grown up!

Green Geckos

Riley is playing soccer again this fall. We put her in a different league this year and she got to play on an all-girls team in an all-girl league. She has improved a lot this season, and has really liked not having any stinkin' ole boys on her team. Go Green Geckos!

Papa's Green Tractor

Papa has been giving the grandkids rides on his riding lawnmower for years. Bailey has never been willing to go for a ride...until last week. Papa promised to go slow so the tractor wouldn't be so loud ... Bayz still had her ears plugged the whole time but at least she got on!

The Yellow Sharks

Finally! It's Bailey's turn to play soccer! Bayz has been waiting patiently for her turn to play soccer and this fall we signed her up on a 3-4 year old team. She was so excited to pick up her uniform (she is#7), and didn't hesitate to join in on the action on the team's organization day (basically a day of practice). That all ended the day of her first game...no matter what we did or said Bailey refused to go out on the field. Her coach called her name several times but she wanted nothing to do with that game. Talk about frustrating (for Cory and I!!)! I am not at all ashamed we bribed her with a kid's meal from McDonalds and a slurpee from 7-11 if she would run around on the field for the next game. She did better, and the ball even accidentally bounced off of her leg once. By game #3 it was like she was a different kid. I can't say she is super-aggressive and gets in there to kick the ball, but she goes out on the field and runs after the ball with the other kids. I guess the way to get through to this little girl is through her stomach! Isn't she a cute little soccer girl?? Go Yellow Sharks!

Here is a little clip of her game:

Great Grandma and Grandpa

How many kids are lucky enough to get to spend time with great-grandparents? Last weekend Cory's grandparents made a pit-stop and stayed with us on their way up to Idaho for a mission farewell. Grandma and Grandpa stayed a few hours with us on Saturday afternoon, and then they went on up to Idaho for the night. Sunday we loaded the van and headed up to Malad (Idaho) for Cory's cousin's farewell and then brought Grandma and Grandpa back home with us so they could spend the night before heading back to New Mexico. We loved having the chance to visit with them... Bailey talked Grandma and Grandpa's legs off, and Riley loved hearing their stories from "the olden days". We are so glad they came!
