Kindergarten Program

Last week Riley had her Kindergarten Christmas program at school. The kids told a Christmas story, sang Jingle Bells, Rudolph, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. It was so cute and Riley was not a bit shy about participating! We are making progress! By the way...don't you just love the antlers?

Christmas Party

Riley started talking about having a Christmas pary with her friends right after Halloween. The big day finally came last Thursday. Riley invited five girlfriends over for an afternoon of Christmas Bingo, Christmas crafts, coloring, Pin the Nose on Frosty, and a Chistmas pinata. I guess the party was a hit...Riley told me every time she thinks about her Christmas party her mouth smiles. Can't get better than that!

We have had a lot of snow here over the last week...which made for perfect sledding conditions. We got Riley all of the essential winter gear (snow pants, parka, snow gloves, boots, etc.) and she has been waiting for it to snow so she could go sledding for the "first time in her whole entire life". Finally the white stuff showed up last week, and she has been putting the hill in Mimi and Papa's development to good use.

Visiting Santa

Last Saturday we took Riley, Bailey, and our nephew Collin to see Santa. The kids were so excited...until they were next in line to see the big guy. Collin went right up, but Ry got a little nervous...she did sit on his lap, though, for the first time since she was three months old! Bailey didn't want anything to do St. Nick, but seeing Santa was the highlight of the older two kids' day.

Trimming the Mullet

Bailey got her first haircut a few days ago...it was brought to my attention that she was growing a mullet. We obviously can't have that, so out came the scissors. My sister held Bailey's head still (while she was screaming her guts out) and I did the snipping. I trimmed just a tiny bit along the back of her neck, and it sure does look better! There will be no mullets in our family!

Family Pictures

We just had our family pictures taken for the first time since Bailey was born. We had Emily (Dave's sister) take them, and we think they turned out great! (check out Emily's website at www.carpediemportfolio.com or her blog at www.carpediemphotography.blogspot.com). We have several cute family pictures to pick from, and the ones of the girls turned out better than I had thought they would (Bailey wasn't too cooperative at the photo-shoot!) Oh, and yes, I know Bailey's pants are undone in the one of the two girls together...our chunky monkey can't breathe when her jeans are buttoned up!

Oh Christmas Tree

We went to get a Christmas tree last weekend...it was one of the few times in my life I have picked out a tree from a tree lot instead of cutting it fresh out of the field. The tree lot worker swore up and down the trees we were picking from were recently cut - but I am not so sure - I am yet to see a tree farm here in Utah! At least we have a fresh one, though, and not one that comes from a box (no offense to you fake-tree loving people!!).
