Our Poor Little Bowling Ball

Saturday night Cory and I had one of the scariest moments of our lives. It was time for dinner, and we had put Bailey on the floor to play with her play gym while we ate. Dinner progressed and we were in the cleaning up stage when we all heard a series of REALLY loud thumps, followed by Bailey screaming. Without anyone noticing, she had gotten to the edge of the basement staircase, and then rolled all of the way down. Though I couldn't see the stairs from where I was, it only took a second to figure out what had happened. Cory and Dave ran downstairs to get Bailey, but all I could do was stand still and cover my eyes...I had visions of a mangled six-month old at the bottom of the staircase! Bailey was screaming when Cory brought her up, and it was hard to tell how badly she was hurt. We took her to an urgent care center close by, where the doctor told us she was a lucky girl...she escaped her accident with only a scratch on top of her head. There weren't even any bruises on her body after rolling down the stairs like a bowling ball! We know we were lucky, and are thankful she wasn't seriously hurt.

The scratch on Bailey's head...not too bad, huh?

The staircase she rolled down. That is a LONG way for a little baby!

Oregon Fun

Last Sunday we headed off to Oregon to finish getting our house packed up. Cory couldn't go due to work, so my sisters Kacey and Shelby (along with their kids) packed into the minivan with Bailey, Riley, and I and drove to Oregon. We didn't tell Mimi and Papa we were coming, and it was fun seeing the looks on their faces when we rang the doorbell. Though we were only home for three days, we packed in lots of activities. In addition to packing up the house we picked blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, made jam, swam in Papa's pool every afternoon, went for rides on Papa's tractor, and went school clothes shopping for Ry. It was a really quick trip, but it was fun.

SOLD!

Good news! We sold our house in Molalla! We had an offer over the Fourth of July weekend that we accepted, and have been holding our breaths ever since that the buyer's financing would go through. Most of you already know we had one sale fail, and we did not want to go through that again! We signed papers on Friday, and the house should close tomorrow. With the market the way it is, we are grateful to have the place sold!

Off to the Zoo!

Last Saturday we decided to spend the morning at the Salt Lake City zoo. It had been a really long time since Ry had been to the zoo, and she was pretty excited to go. She loved seeing the albino crocodile (though she was a little nervous at first...she must have asked the zoo worker how thick the glass cage was a million times!), the giraffes, and the bears... however, the unanimous vote for the best part of the day was seeing a monkey poop. It was a fun morning, and Ry is still asking when we can go back.

Happy Fourth of July!

I can't believe the Fourth of July has come and gone already! Where does the time go? This was the first Fourth in my life we weren't in Molalla...which meant no Main Street Parade! We found plenty to do here in Utah, though. We went to a carnival in the morning, and the kids got go on a few different rides. Usually Ry is pretty timid around the bigger rides, but Papa talked her into going on a dragon roller coaster with him, and now rides are all she talks about! We also went to a splash park and did some fireworks in Kacey and Dave's driveway (notice Ry plugging her ears? She overcame the need to do that by the end of the night...thank goodness!) Riley said it was one of the best days of her whole life...must mean she had fun!

Family Reunion

A few weeks ago we went to New Mexico for Cory's family reunion. We had a great time visiting with family we don't see often. There were a million kids there for Ry to play with, and almost as many babies for Bailey to look forward to playing with next time. Though it was a quick trip, we got a lot of visiting done in the five days we were gone.

The Party House!

As previously mentioned, Ry thinks Dave and Kacey's house is the "Party House!" Here are a few of the fun things we have done since moving in with Kace and Dave two weeks ago:
