Happy Birthday RIley!

Riley is 8! We celebrated Riley's 8th birthday over 4 days...she had a party with her friends, went to dinner at Red Robin, had Mimi make her favorite dinner (homemade mac and cheese - according to Ry I just don't make it right), took treats to school, and had cake and ice cream and opened presents with family. Busy! It was fun, though. We sure do love this 8-year old of ours!

Riley had to wait all day to open her presents...needless to say she was excited by the time her dad got home from work! It was tough to get a "normal" picture of her. This is as close as we got:

I caught Bailey singing her little lungs out while playing with play-dough yesterday morning. She had no idea the camera was on her until the very end. Boy, was she into it or what? (You may recognize the song...it is "Praise to the Man" - obviously she knows the tune but not the words!).

Happy Birthday Cory!

I know this post is a few days late, but happy birthday to the best husband and dad in the whole world! You are the best and we love you!

Good Little Helper

This is what I found Bailey doing the other day. I will ignore the scratches on the wall from the broom handle and actually clean up what she was attempting to sweep after she goes to bed because she was just trying to help her mom.

Ry's New Bike

Riley has needed a new bike for quite awhile. Her knees hit the handle bars on her old one! I really wanted to wait until Ry's birthday to get her one, but if we did then she wouldn't have the summer to ride it. A few weeks ago we went to Target to "just look" at new bikes, but there was one there we both fell in love with. So, her birthday came early! Riley loves it her new bike and she sure looks cute riding it!

What a Cutie

Isn't he cute? And getting so big! Zane is three and a half months old now, and though he has always been cute, I have to say he is much cuter in his mother's eyes since he has started sleeping through the night (at least on a semi-regular basis!). At Zane's two month appointment his doctor said he was big enough that he didn't need to eat during the night anymore. Done! I stopped feeding him after ten and before five, and ta da! After a few rough nights he started sleeping better and longer. Now he goes anywhere between 7-10 hours without eating at night. YIPEE! No matter what happens during the day, it can be handled easier when the Mama is getting some sleep!

1st Day of 2nd Grade

Riley started school a couple of weeks ago...she is now a second grader! We went to school early on the first day so that Ry could meet her new teacher and see her classroom, and so that I could make sure her teacher was aware of her seizures. After taking care of business inside the school, Riley was supposed to go out to the playground and wait with the other kids until the first bell rang. I offered to go and wait with her (there were lots of other parents waiting with their kids) but Ry said no thanks. She didn't need me to. I was kind of sad that she didn't need (or want?) me to wait with her, but proud of her that she was confident enough to not need me. She is growing up and we are proud of her!
