What a week...
Last Sunday night Riley woke up with a stomach bug in the middle of the night...since then at least one of us has been throwing up every day. Ugh! Have I ever mentioned how much I HATE cleaning that up??? I think we are finally on the mend...and not a moment too soon, in my opinion! (Just be grateful I didn't post pictures to go along with this post!).

The Pink Chair
When Ry was three Mimi and Papa bought her a kid size chair to have for her room. Ry loves her chair and has spent many hours reading books and playing her leap pad in that chair. Lately, however, Ry is finding it hard to find time for her own bum to sit in the chair. Someone else has seemed to claim the pink chair for her own! Bailey LOVES the chair and sits in it all of the time. In fact if she finds Riley in it her blood pressure shoots up and she starts squealing until her sister gets up. Thankfully Ry is a good sport and the BEST big sister and lets Bailey spend a lot of time in the ever popular pink chair.

The Draper Temple Open House
Last Thursday Riley and I had the chance to tour the Draper Temple that is scheduled to be dedicated this weekend. Riley was really excited to see inside the temple and thought the baptismal font and Celestial Room was pretty cool. The lighting fixtures used in most of the rooms in the temple look like they are made of diamonds, and so Ry liked that a lot, too (smart kid!). It was good for her to have the chance to go. (By the way...the pictures of the inside came from the LDS website.)

No more ear infections...we hope!
We took Bailey up to Primary Children's Hospital this morning so that she could get tubes put in her ears. Bailey has had six or seven ear infections over the last nine months, and her doctor suggested putting tubes in would be a good choice for her. We had to be up REALLY early this morning, and Bayz couldn't eat or drink anything, which doesn't start the day off on a great note. Bailey has developed quite a dislike of doctors and examination rooms (which there were a lot of both today), so she spent a lot of time between 6:30 and 9:30 crying her heart out (except for the 20 minutes she was put under...). Just look at her face in these pictures! Poor kid! We are all glad today is over with, and hopefully there won't be any more ear infections!

A Nightly Ritual
Every night since Riley was one year old, Cory has been reading stories to her before bed. The nightly ritual is one of Riley's favorite times of day. Ry gets to pick the books (five per night, except on Saturdays, which is ten book night)and no one else is allowed in the room when they read together. Many times I have tried to join the two of them only to banished with a sharp point of Ry's finger. After four years I have gotten the message and I don't even bother to try to be included anymore. Aren't they cute together?

It was a balmy 49 degrees...
so off to the park we went! It has been a LONG time since the kids had been to the park, and they were both more than ready to hit the playground. Bailey's little chubby legs started kicking in excitement as soon as she saw the swings, and Riley couldn't wait to get to the slides (which weren't wet for the first time all winter!). The stinkin' wind kicked up as soon as we headed outside, so we didn't stay as long as the girls would have liked to, but it sure was nice to get outside! Just look at these happy faces!
